Grants and awards

Through the Office of Collegiate Ministries (OCM), the PC(USA) offers a limited number of grants and awards for Presbyterian congregations, chaplains and campus ministers serving Presbyterian students.  Special consideration will be given to those showing collaboration with local churches, presbytery, synod or another higher education entity related to the PC(USA).

If these opportunities don’t meet your needs don’t hesitate to contact OCM. We may know of other sources of support for those entrusted with the responsibility for reaching college students who do not know Christ, those who do not have a church “home” or those who might otherwise drift away from the church/organized religion.

Application/Nomination deadlines

In fairness to those who submit applications in a timely manner, applications received after the deadlines will not be considered.  Applications must be accompanied by a completed W-9 and those nominated for awards will have to submit a W-9 prior to receiving a check. Download a W-9 form. PDF icon

College Ministry Grants

Immigrant Campus Ministry

A total of three to five grants for immigrant fellowships wishing to start a collegiate ministry and/or to chaplains and campus ministers for outreach to students who are not American citizens.  Maximum grant amount $5000. Applications due January 15, 2009. Download an application PDF icon

Awards for Congregational-based Campus Ministry

Awards for Congregationally Based Campus Ministry celebrate the achievements of congregations, with limited resources for campus ministry, who manage to find effective ways to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with college students of all races and nationalities.

A total of six awards will be provided to Presbyterian congregations that demonstrate:

  1. creative use of limited resources,
  2. authentic collaboration with other churches and/or community groups, and
  3. active involvement of college students of different races and nationalities in the planning and leadership of the ministry

Awards will be announced in early January and grants will be distributed soon thereafter.  Awardees will be selected by an independent 3 person panel with knowledge of congregationally based campus ministry.  It is expected that the nomination process will only require a few hours/days of your time and a maximum of 3-5 pages, including attachments and documentation.

Nominations due January 15, 2008. Download an application. PDF icon
