Presbyterian
Association for Collegiate and Higher Education Ministries
(PACHEM)
(PACHEM was formed out of the 2004 PC(USA) Higher Education
Ministry Summit. It was conceived by the Collegiate Ministries
office of the PC(USA) in response to "Renewing the Committment,"
General Assembly Overture 98-63, as an advocacy group. PACHEM
has a formal Covenant with thePC(USA).
The mission of PACHEM
is to connect and empower those who support, advocate, and participate
in collegiate and higher education ministries. To do this the
Association works to meet these Mission Priorities:
- To develop and enable relationships
within higher education ministry communities and with related
ministry components of the church.
- To discover and disseminate resources,
model designs and collections of best practices.
- To advocate and interpret the mission
of collegiate and higher education ministry to the church
to encourage prayer, participation, and support.
- To facilitate and provide opportunities
for the development of those called to leadership in collegiate
and higher education ministries.
- To enrich the church by recognizing
students in higher education as a definitive entity and to
provide specific opportunities for their empowerment.
The PACHEM
Board provides direction for the organization and consists of
representatives from each of the constituency groups as well as
at large positions.

Emerging
Worship
We are living in a time of overwhelming spiritual curiosity.
However, there are few signs of people flocking to churches
for spiritual fulfillment. In fact, many people are leaving
the church in search of deeper rituals and more mystery.
Health Issues for Women
This packet was designed with input of hundreds of Presbyterian
Women who completed surveys indicating the issues on which they
wanted information.

Family and Intergenerational Ministries
The family is the basic foundation for the learning that occurs
throughout our lives.
Racial Ethnic Young Women Together
We are rooted and connected by our Christian faith, gender,
cultural and age identities. We are young women seeking to reconcile
our humanity with God's calling for us. We seek to educate and
cultivate cultural, gender, class and age sensitivity to affirm
our individuality. We seek to be followers of Jesus in confronting
cultural barriers.
National Volunteers Office
he National Volunteers Office develops partnerships with church-related
groups and individuals that enable Presbyterians and ecumenical
partners to experience the national mission of the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) through volunteer ministry.
Mission and Volunteer Service
We believe that God gives each person gifts and life is a journey
of discerning how God wants us to use those gifts. Discover
One Door, Many Opportunities in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.).
Young Adult Ministry
We seek to understand what it means to be Christ-centered and
rooted in the reformed tradition, recognizing that we are the
beloved community of God.
Daily Devotions
The following daily readings are useful for daily meditation
and prayer, or simply as a way to learn about Christian faith
and the work we are doing in the world.
PC(USA) Theological
Schools
Everyday life has changed significantly since the first of our
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) theological seminaries were founded
in 1794 and 1812. Over the years additional theological institutions
were established, carrying on the Presbyterian tradition of
providing educated leadership for congregations from the Atlantic
Ocean to the Pacific Rim.
Collegiate
Ministry Locations
PACHEM (Presbyterian Association for Collegiate and Higher Education Ministries) has resources on its site for all types of collegiate ministries.
Racial Ethnic Clergy Recruitment
This ancient question is now our question in the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.) as we seek to expand our ministry among racial
ethnic and immigrant communities. For more information about
consideration of the ministry of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian
Church (U.S.A.), go to Preparation for
Ministry.
