Leadership of NCC sends letter urging closer connections among member churches
The Rev. Michael Kinnamon, general secretary of the National Council of Churches of Christ (NCC) and Archbishop Vicken Aykazian, NCC president, recently sent a letter to member churches of the NCC to encourage them to be in fellowship and prayer with one another.
"There are still real theological differences among us, differences significant enough that some of our member churches cannot yet break bread together at the table of our Lord. But we do affirm that all of us, in some mysterious way, belong to Christ; and this allows us to pray with and for one another."
Accompanying the NCC communication was a cover letter by PC(USA) General Assembly Stated Clerk Cliff Kirkpatrick commending the appeal to "renewed commitment to deepen our relationshps with other Christians in our local communities all across the country."

Unity and Reformed Heritage Seminar
Geneva, Switzerland / May 28 - June 4, 2009
This educational trip to Geneva is designed to broaden our understanding on theological, social and economical global issues, such as interfaith dialogue, evangelism, globalization, church unity, justice and peace, ecumenical dialogue, the Reformed faith in the 21st century, among others. Participants will engage the staff of the World Council of Churches, the World Alliance of Reformed Churches, Conference of European Churches, Oikocredit and other ecumenical organizations based in Geneva. A one-day visit is scheduled to the Ecumenical Institute of Bossey — in a lovely rural setting outside of Geneva. A city tour, a visit to the Museum of the Reformation, and one full-day tour to Gruyeres and the Chateau de Chillon are also included. This is a great educational opportunity, including time for leisure and relaxation. Here is a sample schedule of events.
