Leech, Lewis confirmed to head Foundation, Publishing House
SAN JOSE, June 25, 2008 — The 218th General Assembly today confirmed the elections of two leaders to Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)-related agencies.
Upon recommendation of its Assembly Committee on Board of Pensions, Presbyterian Foundation and Presbyterian Publishing, the assembly confirmed the reelection of Robert E. Leech to a third four-year term as president of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Foundation and the election of Marc Lewis as president and publisher for the Presbyterian Publishing Corporation (PPC), the official publisher for the PC(USA).
Lewis succeeds Davis Perkins, the founding publisher of PPC in 1993, who resigned last year to assume the presidency of Church Publishing Inc., the publishing house of the Episcopal Church.
Leech, a lifelong Presbyterian, is an ordained elder and deacon. Prior to coming to the Presbyterian Foundation in 2000, he worked for 30 years in the banking industry.
Lewis holds a marketing degree from the University of Tennessee and a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University. Prior to joining the PPC staff in 1999, Lewis had an extended career at the United Methodist Publishing House in Nashville.
