Stated Clerk asks for prayer for Moderator’s family in wake of brother-in-law’s death
It is sad and shocking news to learn of the
death of Brian Pugh, the brother of Robin Pugh, who is
married to Bruce Reyes-Chow, Moderator of the 218th General
Assembly (2008). Brian was one of three shooting victims in
his work place November 14 in Santa Clara, California.
Such a senseless, violent act grieves the heart of God as
surely as it does ours.
Please join me in prayer for Robin, Bruce, their entire
family, and the other victims’ families as they walk
through these very difficult days ahead.
May the grace and comfort of our Lord Jesus Christ be with
us all.

GAC Meeting Summary
September 28 – October 3, 2008
By Linda Valentine
The glorious settings of these meetings, as well as the OGA organized Fall Polity Conference and the Association of Executive Presbyters was Snowbird, Utah, evoked visions of Isaiah 52:7a, “How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who announces the good news, ‘All is well.’” All was indeed well as we beheld the soaring mountains, visible from the high windows, turning from green to blazing yellow and red as the days moved into fall. Church leaders concerned about economic crisis
Dear Pastors and Elders,
We write out of concern for those in your congregations who are suffering loss of their homes, their jobs, their ability to meet other financial obligations or conduct their normal business activities. Indeed, we recognize that even for those who may not be in immediate jeopardy, the current "credit crisis" has spread fear throughout the nation regarding the stability of our whole economic system.
