2009 Mission Program Grant proposals
Dear Colleagues,
Due to recent budget reductions experienced by the Mission Program Grants office, we will not be able to receive proposals for the September, 2009 grants cycle. General Assembly Mission Council staff will be working during the summer months to redesign the grant programs, office process and the advisory committee that guides this work in order to maximize the effectiveness of the funds that remain entrusted to our care.
It is highly probable that at least one program will cease to exist, one may be added and it’s almost guaranteed that the remaining programs will be radically different.
It is our intention to have completed the redesign and begin receiving proposals by February, 2010.
We remain determined to honor all ongoing commitments to projects that are currently receiving funding from these programs.
We are sorry to have to share this news with you, but it’s our intention to give all as much advanced notice as we’re able so you may plan accordingly.
As always, we welcome your questions and concerns and cherish your prayers.
Blessings,
Tim McCallister, Associate
Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)

Our mission
Jesus Christ commands his disciples to go into the world, preaching

and self (Matthew 28:19-20). Mission Program Grants (MPG) are made
available to congregations and presbyteries that are seeking to
respond to this commandment by organizing new congregations, transforming
existing congregations or developing congregational-based ministries. [Read
