The Synod of the Trinity

Map of the Synod of the Trinity and surrounding states.Leadership development is the primary focus of the Synod of the Trinity. Commissioners agree that for three years, the synod will primarily direct all organizational and financial resources to those projects, relationships, and organizations that demonstrate intentional efforts and measurable results to identify new leaders and to train, coach, and equip all leaders.

In order to best serve the sixteen presbyteries, the synod staff members have participated in four retreats in which they learned about the missional church and how to work as a team in assisting presbyteries, congregations, and individuals to live as Christians in dynamic and positive ways.

Through creating a diagram illustrating their cooperative relationships, the staff found help in understanding how to be a leading, trusting, and trustworthy synod staff.

People throughout the synod have come to depend upon the welcoming embrace of persons working in the synod office. Whether it is responding to an inquiry about scholarships, polity, the missional church movement, or how to grow up leaders, Presbyterians are assisted in just, kind, and merciful ways.

The Synod of the Trinity consists of 1,289 congregations, 253,301 Presbyterians, 7 PC(USA)-related colleges, and Pittsburgh Theological Seminary.
