NNPCW Annual Leadership Event modified
NNPCW will have a presence at Churchwide Gathering of Presbyterian Women, which will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, July 11-15, 2009. This is a modification of the event’s previous format. The Coordinating Committee of NNPCW met April 29, 2009, and voted unanimously to change the format of the annual event this year.
Presbyterian Women are delighted to have an increased presence of young adult women at the Gathering and have already extended assistance to provide a positive experience for NNPCW at the Gathering. Learn more about the Gathering.
NNPCW members can take advantage of a hospitality suite at the Gathering where they will connect with their sisters and with Presbyterian Women invited to serve as mentors. Members will also have the opportunity to attend workshops together. Look for these events highlighted in the Gathering schedule.
This decision to move the annual event to the Gathering was made after a careful review of costs and benefits. Making use of an existing resource like the Gathering in the current economic situation, rather than putting on a separate event, allows NNPCW to provide more event scholarships. This opportunity will provide the Coordinating Committee and the new ministry specialist time to review the history of the Leadership Event and enhance future events.
NNPCW members should register for the Gathering [/pwgathering] and contact the NNPCW office for scholarship opportunities as soon as possible. For more information, contact Lydia Kim, ministry specialist for NNPCW, at (502) 569-5848.
