In the vision strategy, adopted by the PDA advisory committee in 2000, is the statement:

"We seek to be known as the General Assembly program that achieves excellence in serving congregations and individuals as they seek to be engaged personally, corporately, and financially in supporting mission and ministry whether that mission be in Houston, Texas; Usalatan, El Salvador; or Xai Xai, Mozambique."

This section offers ways to bring into reality this vision.

As part of the Presbyterian response to the 2005 U.S. Hurricanes, PDA currently has both short and longer term volunteer opportunities.

Give Now

  • One Great Hour of Sharing: Give generously to the One Great Hour of Sharing (OGHS) offering. Overall OGHS support provides the foundation for the work of Presbyterian Disaster Assistance. An OGHS offering may be designated for PDA.

  • Financial Gifts: You may give to any disaster or relief project of your choice. A list of the most needy accounts is available here. Donations may be given via our online server using check or credit card, or made by mail or telephone.

  • Material Gifts for other disasters: Gift of the Heart kits are an excellent "hands on" project for youth groups and other groups that want a tangible way to be involved. The most frequently needed kits in a disaster are the School kit, Health kit, and Layette kit.

Please refer to our Material Resource Giving Policy about the collection of material resources.
