Leaders in the connectional church
A January-Term course
January 11-15, 2010 • Louisville, Kentucky
If you're a seminarian interested in exploring the structure, program and mission of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A) and its impact on local congregations and presbyteries, this for-credit course during J-term is exactly what you’ve been looking for.
With the Presbyterian Center in Louisville as a learning laboratory, you will have the opportunity to experience various Presbyterian program areas, learn from our national leadership and explore in depth one area of interest related to the resources and programs provided by our denomination. In the past, these areas have included:
- Evangelism and Witness
- Justice and Compassion
- Spirituality and Discipleship
- Leadership and Vocation
Required course work, including reading and written assignments, have been designed to help you reflect theologically and practically on what you learn about the work of our denominational offices and its significance in local congregations.
Facilitators
Leaders in the Connectional Church will be facilitated by a team comprised of the Rev. Clifton Kirkpatrick, the former stated clerk of the PC(USA) and visiting professor of Ecumenical and Global Studies at Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, the Rev. Dr. Lee Hinson-Hasty, coordinator of Theological Education and Seminary Relations at the Presbyterian Center and other denominational leaders.
